A 0.2 kg metal at 100 °C is put into 0.5 kg of water at 20 °C, and the final temperature is 25 °C. Find the specific heat capacity of the metal. [c of water = 4200 J/kg K]

Show answer

Answer: B. 700 J/kg K

0.2 × c × 75 = 0.5 × 4200 × 5 = 10,500, so c = 700 J/kg K.
