Last updated 20 September 2026. Plain language; the headings are the summary.

This policy explains what AdmitMe collects, why, and the choices you have. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and collect only what the product needs.

1. What we collect

  • Account: name, email, password (hashed) or Google sign-in identity, phone and school if you add them.
  • Preparation profile: your exams, target course and university, subjects, daily goal.
  • Learning activity: practice and mock attempts, answers, results, reading progress, AI tutor conversations, study plan choices.
  • Admission profile (you enter it): UTME score, O’Level results, screening scores, first-choice status. We never ask for or store your JAMB password.
  • Community and support: posts, replies, reports, tickets and messages.
  • Payments: payment references, amounts and status from Paystack. Card details never reach AdmitMe. For referral payouts, the bank details you enter.
  • Technical: product events (for example “session started”) tied to your account or a hashed visitor key, error reports, and basic request data. We do not store your IP address in analytics.

2. Why we use it

  • To run the service: sign you in, save your progress, score your sessions, calculate your analytics and study plan.
  • To show admission information relevant to your target and to compute your readiness from what you entered.
  • To provide the AI tutor (your messages and the question you are looking at are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply; usage is logged for limits and cost).
  • To process payments, activate Premium, pay referral earnings and prevent fraud.
  • To send you notifications you can control, and transactional email (password reset, receipts, support replies).
  • To keep AdmitMe safe: moderation, rate limits, error monitoring.

3. Who sees it

  • Other students: your display name on leaderboards and community posts. Never your email, results or scores.
  • AdmitMe staff: only what their role needs (support agents see tickets; finance sees payments; moderators see reports). Admin actions are audited.
  • Providers: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Paystack (payments), Resend (email), Anthropic (AI tutor replies). Each processes data only to provide its service.
  • We do not sell your data and do not run advertising.

4. Your choices

  • Edit your profile and admission results at any time; delete individual results, posts and AI conversations.
  • Choose which emails you receive in Settings → Notifications.
  • Delete your account yourself in Settings (or ask support, including for a copy of your data). Payment records are kept as long as the law requires, without your name or email.

5. Security

Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database with row-level security, encrypted in transit; passwords are hashed; access is role-based and logged. No system is perfectly secure — if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.

6. Cookies

AdmitMe uses a session cookie to keep you signed in, a theme preference, and a 30-day referral cookie when you arrive through a referral link. No advertising cookies.

7. Children

Many students are under 18. We collect only what preparation needs and never market to minors. A parent or guardian may contact support about a minor’s account.
