ChemistryAcids, bases and saltsWAEC

25.0 cm³ of 0.10 mol/dm³ sodium hydroxide is exactly neutralised by 20.0 cm³ of hydrochloric acid. Find the concentration of the acid.

Show answer

Answer: D. 0.125 mol/dm³

Moles of NaOH = 0.025 × 0.10 = 0.0025; the acid reacts 1 : 1, so its concentration = 0.0025/0.020 = 0.125 mol/dm³.
