How to check your admission status and accept an offer on JAMB CAPS

Your admission is not complete until you accept it on CAPS. Here is where to look, and what to do before and after an offer.

JAMB's Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) is where every admission into a Nigerian university, polytechnic or college of education is processed. You can check your status there at any time.

Where to check: open JAMB's website, jamb.gov.ng, and choose CAPS (Candidates). It takes you to the JAMB e-Facility portal, efacility.jamb.gov.ng. Log in with the email address and password you used for your UTME or Direct Entry registration, then open your admission status on CAPS.

What you may see: "Not admitted yet" means no decision has been sent to JAMB for you, which is normal while schools are still processing. If you have a provisional offer, CAPS shows the institution and course, with options to accept or reject it.

Accept your offer. JAMB built CAPS so that candidates confirm their provisional admission, which tells the school you are taking the place. Do not wait: if you are happy with the course, accept it on CAPS as soon as you can, then follow your school's own instructions for acceptance fees, screening and clearance.

Before any offer: if you wrote your UTME while awaiting O'Level results, upload your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results to your JAMB profile. JAMB says candidates awaiting results must upload them before they can be considered.

Stay safe. Do this yourself, or with someone you trust, through JAMB's official portal only. JAMB and universities never ask you to pay a stranger to "upgrade" or "speed up" your admission.
