Direct Entry admission
Already have an A-Level, IJMB, JUPEB, ND, HND or NCE? Direct Entry lets you apply with it instead of a UTME score, usually into 200 level.
How Direct Entry works
- 1. Have an accepted qualification
Such as A-Level, IJMB, JUPEB, a National Diploma, HND or NCE, plus your O’Level results.
- 2. Register for Direct Entry with JAMB
Direct Entry has its own JAMB registration. Direct Entry candidates do not sit the UTME.
- 3. Check each programme’s requirement
Universities set their own Direct Entry subjects and grades for each course. Read them in JAMB’s brochure and on the school’s admission page.
- 4. Follow the admission process
Admission is offered by the institution through JAMB CAPS, usually into 200 level.
Qualifications commonly used for Direct Entry
- GCE A-Level
- IJMB
- JUPEB
- National Diploma (ND/OND)
- Higher National Diploma (HND)
- NCE
- First degree
Whether a qualification, grade or subject is accepted for a course is decided by the institution and published in JAMB’s brochure. AdmitMe shows a programme’s Direct Entry requirement only after checking it against that official source.
